Havana Browns Nightclub
Nice place, shame about the staff, especially the security people. Unfriendly and rude, a throwback to the past when there was not so much choice and ape like behaviour was tolerated by punters. Our group of 15 (nice loss of revenue there lads..) left and went to a bar /club on the coal quay which was busy and had really nice friendly staff greeting and serving. Met a girl there who said a woman bouncer had picked her at random from the Q at Havana and told her, "not tonight", she was 28, solvent and with 4 friends, and had never been to the club before as she was from Kilkenny! Go figure.....staff must be losing this place a fortune. Never again for us. Put in one star as had to, doesnt even deserve this.
Its one of the only decent night clubs in the city. Plenty of room, nice decent sized smoking area and the door staff are friendly enough.

Market Lane Restaurant and Bar is a contemporary restaurant in Cork using ingredients from the English Market and offering dining in a relaxed informal atmosphere.
5-6, Oliver Plunkett Street
I had dinner in the Market Lane recently, and I have to say it was very disappointing. Ordered a seafood spagetti. The portion was quite small and there were hard bits of some root vegetable in the dish. Not good! The beef pie from the early bird menu was very fatty and equally disappointing.
Have been here a number of times for dinner, its one of my favourite places to eat in Cork. The restaurant is always busy but we are never left waiting long to be seated. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food is wonderful and the early bird menu is great value. Would recommend to everyone!
I decided to have a "treat myself day" last Saturday & that included lunch at Market Lane..I arrived at the peak of lunch (1 o clock) and the restaurant was extremely busy. I was seated straight away which was great & made to feel very welcome! After looking through the menu I decided to have their lunch special which consisted of Soup with 1/2 sandwich, mini choc. pot & coffee for €10. The service was fast and efficient even though the the restaurant was full. The soup - Tomato & basil - was deliciously tasty and hot, The sandwich which I can only describe as a gourmet sandwich - Smoked ham, chicken, herb mayo and baby leaves in seeded wholemeal was scrumptious & the mini choc. is pure indulgence. I enjoyed watching the professional kitchen staff working effortlessly together as a team getting the dishes ready for the waiting staff. All the staff work brilliantly together to make the atmosphere friendly and relaxed. I left happy and will definitely return to sample more of their menu..Well done to all at market lane!
have eaten here a few times, lunch was lovely, soup and a sandwich but dinner was very average... wouldnt rush back here.
Was here the other night with some friends. I would give it top marks myself for the food on offer: high quality and the menu caters well to the likes of vegetarians and coeliacs. Some people were rather disgusted by the creme brulee (which I had the misfortune of tasting) though. Tasted like scrambled eggs with sugar on top.
